Removing the Officejet T45 Case Removing the outer case 1. Open the carriage access door and remove six black T10 Torx head screws. Remove the bezel in the rear surrounding the parallel connector. Pry at the lower end with a slot style screwdriver (If you pry at the top it will break.). Remove the LIU (Line Interface Unit). Insert a credit cart between its bottom surface and the rear panel to release the latches and it will unplug.
Remove the end covers by releasing three latches on each. They unlatch identically. Pry under the flange on the front, just below the scanner, with a slot style screwdriver to release the first latch. Pry under the flange where the front-most black screw went through to release the second latch. Pry in the gap that is opened approximately 4” (10cm) to the rear of the previously mentioned screw to release the third latch. The end covers will now be loosened but will not readily slip off. Remove the cartridge access door assembly. There are three white ribbon cables going to the main electronics board. Unplug the one in the center. There are two visible latches on the top.
Release them and pull backward and the access door assembly will detach. There will be some resistance but it will come off. Removing the scanner 1. Remove the two screws securing the front of the scanner. They are in the cartridge access area.
