Canon Camera Trade In Program Singapore
This program is available here in Singapore but very few people know about it. Locally it is known as the 'Privilege Purchase' program. You can bring in any Canon camera (slr, dslr, p&s, etc) in any condition (working or not). Canon Singapore will give you a flat 21% off on a brand new camera. Obviously, this would not work to your advantage if you were to trade in a recent dslr, but an old P&S that's just collecting dust, would give you 21% off your next purchase on any camera in their current line. It may be worth it to call your local Canon Service Centre to see if the provide a similar program.

You would just need to call/visit some of them and ask (as different stores may offer more/less than others depending on the lens you want to buy). The thing to consider is not all lenses are worth trading in.such as the typical 18-55mm 'kit' lens, since a 'trade-in' will only be worth 30%-90% of its value. That may seem like a wide spread but a store will need to do a profit mark up on your lens, and a new kit lens loses value as soon as you buy it, but something like a Canon 'L' series will hold its value.
